I am John Ward, and as the CTO at Partful, a dynamic startup, my daily focus revolves around the my passion for technology. The software ideal for me is working on software delivery, 3D graphics or software build.

My background spans roles such as Software Engineer, Project Manager, Technical Lead, and Group Manager, I now proudly hold the position of CTO.

Over the years, I have accumulated extensive expertise across diverse sectors, including telecommunications, semiconductors, automotive, and supply chain management.

My office is right in the heart of Manchester, alongside the vibrant tech community that Partful is a proud member of. Indeed, Partful stands out as one of the most exciting startups in the Manchester tech ecosystem.

My journey in the world of programming began with the ZX Spectrum (+2 with Cassette, not the original), and I’ve witnessed the evolution of technology through my involvement in pioneering projects, such as the Nokia 6600 and Nokia 7610, two of the earliest smartphones.

Here is a summary of my expertise:

• Creating and executing technology roadmaps in alignment with company missions.
• Proficiency in AWS cloud architecture; experienced in building SaaS platforms.
• Proficient in software development and architecture, with hands-on experience in microservice, monolithic, and serverless frameworks.
• Understanding of 3D Computer Graphics, having collaborated intensively with Khronos.
• Experienced in building and steering dynamic engineering teams.
• Managed smooth DevOps processes to bolster efficiency.
• Seasoned in sales & account management.
• Coding expertise: C/C++, Rust, Java, and Typescript/Javascript.

Away from the office, you will find me spending time with my family, on a windy beach kitesurfing, paddleboarding, or out on my bike heading up a mountain road or trail.
